A leader’s top priority.

There are many factors that must work in a business. But there is only one area that must always be in focus, everything else belongs in the periphery. A leader's main role is to engage and build relationships with those she/he has the privilege of leading. This is not just a hypothesis, but a thesis that has been supported and tested by leadership institutions in higher education institutions worldwide. The hypothesis is proven, defended and thus evidence-based.

This is not to say that we do not need structure, processes, budgets, results and other irreplaceable components in order for us to manage a lucrative business.
However, these components must be on the periphery of leaders and managers.

The main competence of leaders must be their relational ability. Not aptitude, but formal competence in how to guide people forward both as individuals and as a group through strong relational commitment.

What do you think is the main competence of a leader?
How did you reach that conclusion and what is it based on?

Have a brilliant day!
