Life Can Leave Us with Scars.

Most of us don’t go through life without getting a few scars. Life often brings challenges, and we have no control over the family we are born into or the circumstances we face. I’ve heard many stories of tough childhoods. My own upbringing could probably be turned into a Blockbuster movie. Life doesn’t come with guarantees. It can bring anything from illness and accidents to conflicts and financial challenges. Our relationships also carry the risk of misunderstandings and getting hurt. Unfortunately, power plays and workplace conflicts are all too common, and people end up wounded.

I don’t want to sound negative, just pointing out that this is a part of life for most of us. We will all face difficulties and moments when life feels hard.

When we go through tough times, we get hurt. It’s truly impressive how many people pour their energy and heart into regaining balance in life.

Some people recover completely, while others are left with scars—both visible and invisible. Physical scars can be seen, but emotional scars are harder to spot.

Accepting your scars is far from being stuck in a crisis. It’s actually the opposite. It’s an acceptance of “This is as good as it gets.” Based on this reality, we can create a life of quality with the circumstances we have.

It’s okay to have scars, and I feel no shame about mine. I can talk about them openly, and no one needs to walk on eggshells around me because of them. My scars are a part of me—and if I think about it, they’re kind of sexy.

Have a brilliant day!
